I did like the Dax/symibont aspect.
Me too. That was a nice twist for a Trek show.
Yeah, Jadzia was very macho and very interested in showing herself to be as capable as anyone else. Also, in some of her personal life as explored during the relationship with Worf, she is sort of the "Federation Party Girl (tm)" :-) Definitely not afraid of having a good time.
She provides a lot of very interesting moments in "Trials and Tribbleations" too. True, she is played like the "party girl" in that episode as well, with all her memories of McCoy having "the hands of a surgeon" and her affinity for "Starfleet classic design, black leather and silver linings". But then again, they were going for the TOS environment of girls. Like she says, "..females wore less".
A lot of people didn't like Ezri because she wasn't as strong and brash as Jadzia (my wife included). A lot of people felt like you, that Ezri was a much more interesting character. Me, I liked 'em both. IDIC :-)
Count me as one of the fans who didn't like Ezri, too. If a character is a new host for the symbiont, wouldn't she be expected to have the same character traits? I wonder.
