No, the "From:" _header_ is the individual sender's email address. But
now I see why you were confused, and what JDG meant that he was using.
You are both referring to the "tag" added dynamically onto an email by
the mail transfer program that gives the SMTP originator address and
time. Technically, that is not a regular email header, but it is added
dynamically during transfer.
So, in your message the From: _header_ is
From: "Nick Arnett" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
while the "dynamic tag" added by the mail transfer program is
From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Sep 21 09:52:07 2002
Note the abscence of a colon: after the From in the tag. All regular
header lines have to use the colon: format. A fine point, perhaps, but
if you are filtering your mail and you don't get the colon right after
the From(:), then it won't work as intended.
