Carden Plains continues to be rich with birds, but I hadn't seen any upland sandpipers for the day. I decided to search on Shrike Road and was about to give up and return to Wylie Rd. when I saw two sandpipers on the telephone wires and the fence posts. Next thing I saw was two little spotted babies running around the road; they couldn't have been more than a couple of days old. So keep your eyes open for these strays as they're no match for a car. At Cranberry Marsh the sora rail has been very available every time I go there around 6-7 PM. Yesterday he foraged all around the first viewing platform much to my suppressed delight. I couldn't decide whether to look at him with my binoculars or not. (I chose both.) I visited the Osprey nest yesterday afternoon (June 13) .There are at least 2 young in the Osprey nest at the Lennox and Addington generating station. The heads of the young were visible beside on the parents who was perched on the edge of the nest. It is best to use a scope and view form the entrance to the generating station which is far enough away from the nest not to alarm the Osprey and safe from the traffic along Highway 33. The nest is on the north side of Highway 33 on a hydro pole along side the eastern portion of the generating station property. The generating station is located at the corner of Highway 33 and county road 21 about 10 kilometres west of Bath. Chester Gryski Toronto, Ontario e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] :
