Driving east on HWY 48 just past the carpet store, In Virginia, I saw a great Grey owl, perched low to the ground on a tree branch. Even my stopping did not bother him. I sat for almost 15 minutes watching him. Directions: just follow hwy 48 east through Virginia, he is sitting next to the last drive way near the open field on the North side of the road. Turn right on Quarry Rd. and drive 100m to the conservation area. Parking is normally available inside the park. If parking at the entrance or on the roads, do NOT leave valuables in your car.
