I don't like or appreciate rants.
Rantors are not all the same and so I do not have a universal rule how to treat
them.
In this instance, for me the product rant was not that aggressive that I would
remove the user if I were list owner.
I would remind the user that rants like this are not appreciated and ask for
more information.
Now I received information that this happened off-list and was replied with an
other rant.
This information gap leaves other members on the list in the dark.
Have a nice weekend all,
Marcus

The user was angry and ranted about named 9.18.x. He did not rant about any
developer or any member of your team. Removing a user from this list is IMHO
not the best way to treat an issue.

Yes, but tone matters. It seems that world is now full people who deem
themselves so
important that anything they say should be considered as absolutely truth and
they
should be the center of attention. These verbal bomb throwers make everyone
around
them - both in real life and virtually - miserable.
What is almost always true about such people (I don't know in this case) is that
they do not contribute anything to help out. They don't answer questions for
newer users, they contribute code, they don't contribute money ... nothing.
All they provide is complaints. They love to bask in the glow of identifying
a problem. That's it.
So if the list owner had enough, I think that just means the misery index was
exceeded.

I can understand your anger
But I don’t. Let me be absolutely clear. There’s nothing in the world that would allow you to treat me, my team and the other list members like this. And there’s nothing in the world that would
justify such behavior.
The user in question has been removed from the list and banned. I would rather
spent my energy on the users who treat other with respect than work around
someone’s “anger”.
