Not quite. If you had a job that backed up 10GB and broke it into 2GB
chunks and you had one link failure then you have wasted at most 2GB of
effort, instead of up to 10GB of effort. It's the same rationale as
using smaller packet sizes over links that have higher packet loss.

And when you say 'terminate', the job completes successfully and the
next job just picks up where the previous successful job left off.

rsync is great but isn't the answer to all problems, and is a gross
duplication of data if you subsequently back it up.
