I have now managed to install to the built-in emmc drive - for some
reason the problem of the emmc not being available for installation
has cleared. However I now have another problem, if I have a uSD card
plugged in for data storage (web server and torrent client) then boot
fails.

I tried everything I found on DuckDuckGo on the subject, as well as

some ideas of my own but the best I can do is to manually boot the BBB,
with the uSD card plugged in, as below in U-Boot:
fatload mmc 1 ${loadaddr} bsd.umg
bootm ${loadaddr}

The boot process stops as the kernel asks for the root device, and if
I specify sd1a it then boots OK. This is awkward at best and unacceptable,
if someone installs on the internal emmc he would want to boot from it.
Is there a solution to this, if not will this be changed in the future?

Thank you.
