The truth is that this opens up a rather interesting can of worms. IMHO, parental controls should be mandatory at the system level, but from there on, it should be up to each individual to decide whether or not to use them. For example, the proposals made so far for age control give me real chills. Where does privacy end and control begin? That said, I don't think we should be anyone's police force. I believe we should provide the tools and leave it up to each individual to decide whether or not to use them. If not using them constitutes a crime against a minor, it should not be up to us to decide or prosecute. All of this is my personal opinion. I don't want anyone to feel offended by it.
