Hi Bill, Do you know what the latest version is? I have installed alsa-base 1.0.11-2 using apt-get. The latest drivers are suppose to be 1.0.11. I am not sure if the debian version is the latest, as I could not find out if the release version was the final 1.0.11. Incidently, kubuntu dapper live uses an older version than the one I have installed (1.0.10-4ubuntu4).
It may well be that the newer version I have has a bug. Should I remove the alsa-xxxx.deb I have and try to compile alsa drivers and then install it??
