I've never been able to get a sustained white noise. My A1 amp cuts it off after 1/4 of a second. Have you connected the analog lines ? I've got no problem with DTS except that it's decoded as DTS from CD audio (some kind of a fallback mode?) . I've hooked my sound card with a coaxial cable. Not an optical one. "DTS pcm" means that there's no signal to decode or that the DTS signal cannot be decoded. Yes. The Yamaha A1 seems very picky to decode AC3 or DTS.
