Deluxe? Hmmm.... I have a P4G8X Deluxe.... - after some searching I
found the "digital sound board"... and after some screwdriving... I also
used the time to get the data of the CS card:

I assume the PCI Bridge and the FireWire Stuff is not interessting..

1:
CRYSTAL
CS4624-CQ
AMABUH0217

2:
APL1117
GE7G9

3: (this thing is two times on the board)
4294-JQ EP
ZTARCE0217

Now, I mentioned that I installed the "digital board"

0000:00:1f.5 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corp. 82801DB AC'97
Audio Controller (rev 02)
0000:03:08.0 Multimedia audio controller: Cirrus Logic CS 4614/22/24
[CrystalClear SoundFusion Audio Accelerator] (rev 01)

The first is the onboard and the second my beloved hercules card - alsa
identifies the card as:

0 [I82801DBICH4 ]: ICH - Intel 82801DB-ICH4
                     Intel 82801DB-ICH4 at 0xd2000000, irq 17

which seems to me to be the same as card as Dominique's - or at least the same
driver.... I put the Coaxial Cable into the DVD/VCR 3 plug (most left)
and I got "Dolby Digital" running as I ever dreamt of...

Technical Data from the Manual

Chipset: Intel E7205 MCH / Intel 82801DB ICH4
Audio: RealTek ALC650 6-channel audio CODEC

The "digital board" has a jumper setting for "PCI audio" or "AC97 Audio"
I don't know what it's good for but it's jumpered for AC97

I don't have to say that I'm a little bit confused why it works, but if
somebody tells me how I can capture the "data on the wire" I would be
happy to deliver the data so that my pretty Hercules would be able
(hopefully) to do ac3/a52/dd

Oh, xine still crashes with the stream file in "pass through" mode
I wonder what I messed...

The amplifier also get's correctly reseted to "Pro Logic" after a dd or
dts file was played...

And it's a "yellow" dts that I see when playing dts... and not the red
one...

Also note that the "Coaxial Input of the LD" the one in the upper left
does not work for me, I have to use the DVD or CD input, the TV would
probably also work but I haven't tested...

For those who already have the coaxial DVD occupied, put the Video into
the LD and the Audio into the CD jackets... switch on the Remote Control
first to LD and then to CD, you'll get the Video from the LD and the
Audio from the CD - maybe not pretty, but works for me...

I run the iecset util while running mplayer and noticed this:

Category: PCM coder

IIRC the Hercules said "general" - I dunno if it makes a difference for
ac3

whole output:
Mode: consumer
Data: non-audio
Rate: 48000 Hz
Copyright: protected
Emphasis: none
Category: PCM coder
Original: original
Clock: 1000 ppm

Regards
Philipp
