The throw in an entirely different wrench into these gears, has anyone seen a
comprehensive write-up on how 2.6 module handling is different than 2.4?

I had to move to using 2.6.1 as getting some USB networking stuff
(ax8817x-based) working just wasn't happening. Now I'm in hell trying to figure
out how to cajole ALSA to do it's thing with some isapnp cards.

I'm willing to do the reading but need some pointers on where the hell to start!
