Risking much chagrin, I'm returning to the universe of relativistic reality and the "obvious" need for AGI-relevant methodology/ies. Math is a relativistic constant. So, is time. Meaning, "math" - in the sense of a polymorphic construct - may manifest in many forms.
It seemingly depends on the framework of reference, meaning from the perspective of the reasoning universe it is viewed in. However, it may also depend on a combinationally-sensitive unreasoning universe, which wholeness is being observed from. It is commonly asserted how the cosmic background left humankind with a perfect random generator. Math could prove that assertion incorrect, destroying theory on true randomness. It could, for the simple assumption that patterns are inherent to informational flow. We're still learning. We're ever learning. It'll never stop. Learning in humanity, and perhaps AGI, could be a mathematical constant. If only we knew how to express such dynamicism. As such, I think the title to this thread self limiting, caught in its own semantic, fatal loop. Furthermore, I think deep learning cannot possibly be dead. While there may be a season for everything, wintry death is but an interlude to make space for new growth. In this event, the sooner the field is pruned, the better. And my opinion is even if we had a more advanced "symbolic structure" or whatever thats building instead, it still ends up a lifeless knee jerk reaction because its still just a machine! but - I dont think many ppl will care if it still delivers the goods.
