Tesla's in general do not have a stellar reputation for "reliability" or build quality. That said, the M3 scores high, followed relatively closely by the MY. The two share 80% of their components.

If you drill down on the reliability complaints, it is often to do with niggling little things like door handles and retracting rear view mirrors and the like. The MX is horrible for the X-wing doors. There are also on-and-off issues with build quality (except for the ones made in China). They have been getting steadily better, and the really new ones I've seen look almost perfect WRT fit and finish.

Are you not concerned at all regarding build quality or longevity with a company that hasn't been forthright about existing issues, poor warranty experiences, and don't seem to generally care about their customer service or customer in general?

We will be coming on the end of our Model 3 lease in September, which, after so many delivery date changes ( one of which would have been three months ago! ) corresponds to the delivery date of the Model Y.   Getting into and out of the 3 was just too much for these knees, which are now being replaced.   We have really enjoyed all of the Model 3 features and I think the full autopilot is just another Musk Troll that fanboys are willing to throw money at.   I am seriously tempted to flip it, if the prices for used stay this high.  $20K over our price would be hard to refuse, with the likely reduction in lead times in the next year or so as the factories ramp up.

Sometimes it is amusing to watch the Jaime and Steve show.  Ken and Lewis used to join in too but they couldn’t take it anymore.  But we do have the OT in the subject line so you can filter this kind of crap out.  
 
But yeah, I think we have all vented now, and trolled the guys that need trolling.  Steve and Jaime got to make their hyperbolic comments.  
 
So it is now dead until Lent is over.  Next year’s lent.
 
BTW everyone, I ordered a Tesla.  My 4th Leaf lease is coming due in July so I took the leap.  Did a test drive today and really loved it.  I loved the last 10 years of Leafs too but man this is a quantum leap of enjoyment.
