I would take everything to 15.2 or 16.0.1.1 before going to 16.2. Cambium warns in the release notes that an SM on 15.1.5 or earlier will not register to an AP on 16.1 or later.
Probably should do SMs first. I have not had trouble installing a new SM with 16.2 when the AP is still on 15.2., not sure if I've tried that while an AP was still on 14.1.2.
