They are trying real hard to make me feel old. The registers also had a sign promoting delivery via DoorDash. Probably a self-driving car with a delivery robot? Especially since I am a control freak anyway. Being in a self driving car let alone being in the drivers seat is too stressful for me. My family had a discussion about DUI and self driving cars last weekend. What is the consequences of being under the influence and getting behind the wheel of a self driving car? If the car is doing the driving and the person in the drivers seat is impaired but not driving, can a person be held responsible for DUI? They are not technically driving. And considering this is just the beginning of the trend toward self driving cars, at what point do states start putting laws on the books regarding this? I'm sure the states are already scrambling to figure out how to replace lost revenue from fines. I'm certainly not promoting that someone should do this but we all know it is going to be a court case that will be sent all the way to the top at some point.
