Cause you are eating at McDonalds...

I just got back from running some errands – stop at PO Box, stop at

being some kind of freak for coming inside instead of going through the
drive-thru (I abuse my SUV but not by eating in it).
But this time all the registers had signs taped to them saying to order
at the kiosk. Then some guy comes over to operate it for me, I guess
because I looked too old to understand touchscreen technology? But then
I wanted to pay with cash not a card (I don’t like putting incidental
purchases on a card). So they had to call a teenager up from the back
to take my old timey money at a register.
They are trying real hard to make me feel old.
The registers also had a sign promoting delivery via DoorDash. Probably
a self-driving car with a delivery robot? Why is all this modern stuff
not making me feel like George Jetson? More like Blade Runner or
Minority Report.

I would agree. Especially since I am a control freak anyway. Being in
a self driving car let alone being in the drivers seat is too stressful
for me. My family had a discussion about DUI and self driving cars last
weekend. What is the consequences of being under the influence and
getting behind the wheel of a self driving car? If the car is doing the
driving and the person in the drivers seat is impaired but not driving,
can a person be held responsible for DUI? They are not technically
driving. And considering this is just the beginning of the trend toward
self driving cars, at what point do states start putting laws on the
books regarding this? I'm sure the states are already scrambling to
figure out how to replace lost revenue from fines. I'm certainly not
promoting that someone should do this but we all know it is going to be
a court case that will be sent all the way to the top at some point.

Researchers taught lab rats to drive tiny cars to get Froot Loops.
Analysis of their poop showed driving reduced stress. Implications for
self driving cars?
"We concluded that the rats that actually learned to drive had a greater
sense of control over their environment that was accompanied by
increased DHEA — something like a rodent version of what we refer to as
self-efficacy or agency in humans," Lambert said in a statement.
tl;dr – driving is fun

No cup holders. Evidently they are pro drinking, but not pro drinking in
the car.

I am surprised such a new Mercedes does not have adaptive
cruise control. At least if it does I cannot figure out how
to use it. The sat-nav operation was totally unintuitive.
Had a weird touch pad thing in the center console. Very
difficult to program in a destination address.
Never drove a Mercedes before. Not likely to again.
