Inexpensive Intel motherboards do not support ECC memory while all current AMD cpus do. If ECC is important to you, Intel is not a good choice. I'm disappointed that there is no support for power management on the K8, which is a bit of a shock since Sun's been selling K8 based systems for a few years now.
