We have an extensive library of .eps graphics, so when I need to include a graphic in a .dita topic I usually use Illustrator "Save as" to generate the corresponding .svg file.
I've learnt that when I ask Illustrator to use Arial it writes "Arial MT" into the .svg source, but that's easy to correct. I've also learnt how to handle the way Illustrator writes .css information into an .svg file, so no problems there. One problem remains, though: when the .svg file references an external graphic - when I have a line drawing that includes a product photograph, for example - then XML Mind isn't happy.
