My main frustration regarding your product is:
a) It's a little bit hard to edit stuff.
This is true, unfortunately for us.
Having said this, I don't
think there is a way to make this better and still maintain the XML
concept. That is, one is doing more than editing a document, one is
capturing the "meaning" behind the document. So it's no surprising
that it's it's more work than just "typing the text" Of all the
products I evaluated your's was by far the best in this regard. So this
is not a criticism.
Thank you for the compliments. We plan to enhance our toolbar (i.e. the
DocBook toolbar) to slightly improve the situation.
b) You marketing program. I think your product should be MUCH more
widely used. You've invested huge efforts in product, tutorials, videos
etc. etc. which are mostly effective in helping with a) above. I would
like to see a version of this product in the Apple App store. How about
selling a personal license with a one year expiration date for $29.00 ?
Naturally this "teaser" would be stripped down and addons would be extra
- PDF, Math, addon's etc. which many users would eventually be willing
to pay for. Just my two cents (US).
The idea of a "normal" person paying any amount of money larger than
$4.99 for any kind of software is for us, hard to believe. That's why
all our products target companies and not persons. Of course, we may be
wrong.
The quickest and simplest is to select "Help|About XMLmind XML
Editor", click "Copy" and send us privately

Here is what I got
<ul style="margin-top: 6; margin-bottom: 6;">
<li>Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 1.6.0_65</li>
<li>Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 20.65-b04-468</li>
<li>Mac OS X 10.11.1 x86_64</li>
<li>apple.awt.CToolkit</li>
Bad news. I cannot reproduce the issue on El Capitan using exactly the
same Java runtime as you.
I did my tests on a MacBook Pro Retina. In the next few days, I'll also
test that on a non-Retina Mac.
Note that there is no way our 100% Java code could cause the issue you
have reported:
---
When I edit text in the wysiwyg view, the characters are corrupted until
I resize the window at which point they are redrawn correctly. It's
exceedingly annoying.
---
It's almost certainly a Java bug for which we need to find a workaround.
I would suggest to uninstall your Apple Java 1.6.0_65 runtime[*] and try
to use the private Oracle Java 1.8.0_66 included in our .dmg distribution.
Uninstalling the Apple Java 1.6.0_65 runtime is as simple as executing:
sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk
sudo rm -rf /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0*.jdk
in a Terminal.
You may then want to re-install Apple Java 1.6.0_65 runtime after
downloading it from:
Download Java for OS X 2015-001
https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1572?locale=en_US
---
[*] If you do not want to uninstall the Apple Java 1.6.0_65 runtime and
are a Mac expert, it's always possible to *globally* set environment
variable XXE_USE_PRIVATE_JRE:
launchctl setenv XXE_USE_PRIVATE_JRE 1
