Considering that Microsoft uses it for its own primary products (except for the 
operating systems themselves where MSI is not an option, of course), I wouldn't 
worry too much about that. Besides, the source code being public, even in the 
highly unlikely case that they abandoned it, you or anybody else can pick it up 
and continue using or even developing it further... I'd say your options are 
much *better* than with any proprietary tool like those mentioned in the 
subject line...
