I find the wix-users mailing list to be sufficient.

I had terrible experiences with InstallShield and InstallShield's forums
over the years. I've used InstallShield 7, 10/X/10.5 and now 2008. I avoid
the forums as much as possible.

WiX has actually helped me become a better InstallShield packager.

No support system is perfect.

I certainly don't feel there is a disconnect between the leaders and the
users of WiX.
