Hi,

Then I set compat.linuxkpi.80211.hw_crypto=1.
First strange thing: "ifconfig wlan0" output doesn't differ; it' still says "54Mbps" and "11g". WiFi doesn't seem to work properly, as I cannot even ssh into the machine (hangs after some startup messages).

Okay, we should try to figure out why that is.

Also I started seeing a lot of messages that invite me to report to PR 274382.

That is likely because you don't get a stable association and net80211
swaps the node and tries to send the first packet.

I'll eventually try in other networks, if I can.

If you can compile yourself, can you (in 14.2 / stable/14 still in
/usr/src (or wherever your source tree is) and then
tools/tools/net80211/wlanstats/
Type make and make install and make sure your shell finds the newly
innstalled program.

wlanstats [-i wlan0] might tell you things and we can start seeing
what's wrong maybe.

Fine, this was just a test for fun.
Either I did something wrong or it just can't work on 14.2.

Or it should but doesn't and we need to fix that.

Now, the real question: are you interested in such reports in 274382?
Given the "unofficial" (to say the least) state of my kernel, I'm not sure.

I am about to remove the "reposrt to PR..." bit from the kernels; I
have more than plenty reports still and now that some queue got flushed
I an can spend a day or two trying to address some of the PRs to sort
these out (the BT COex one as well hopefully).

pciconf -lv:
iwlwifi0@pci0:0:12:0: class=0x028000 rev=0x06 hdr=0x00 vendor=0x8086 device=0x31dc subvendor=0x8086 subdevice=0x0264

iwlwifi0: base HW address: ------------------ OTP minor version: 0x4

That is very valuble information as well. I still don't have a 9xxx to
test with. I should get one.

Thanks a lot for going the full way of trying with all the extra
cherry-picks.
