-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi everybody! Just to inform you: Due to the change of the multiplayer dialog, I had to create new screenshots of it. The text had to be altered to accomplish the removal of the password box, too. I also made a new screenshot of the main menu, since the nice battlefield graphics were removed from there and the good old map is back. For creating the screenshots I used latest trunk (probably shortly before 1.5.11). As a reminder on how to create the screenshots, here the relevant part of my mail from December 21st: >1) Take the "original" version as png or bmp. >2) Take the fullscreen screenshots in 1024x768. >3) Afterwards, convert the fullscreen screenshots to jpg and change the >resolution to 640x480 and set quality level to 80%. This is the command to use >when using imagemagick (change file name accordingly for the titlescreen >screenshot): > >convert -resize 640x480 -quality 80 game-screen-1.5.7.png game-screen-1.5.7.jpg > >4) For those "parts of the screen" screenshots just copy out the relevant part >from the full versions. All "non fullscreen" screenshots should be stored with >a compression/quality setting of 90% and in the original size. The imagemagick >command would look like this: > >convert -quality 80 multiplayer-1.5.7.png multiplayer-1.5.7.jpg
Beside this a new string was added in the advanced preferences and something was altered in the editor. As you see, speed of changes strings has drastically reduced. So you are probably not surprised that we will head for 1.6 *really* soon. The latest plans are these (also listed in the wiki[1]): * 23 February - today * 23 February - tagging 1.6 beta3 * 1 March - tagging 1.6 rc1 * 8 March - tagging 1.6 rc2 * 15 March - if everything is fine, tag 1.6 * several days later - announce 1.6 and celebrate I asked esr to write a full fledged announcement and he will probably/hopefully complete this till March 1st.
