Iif your application was built with version 2.5, use version 2.5, not version 2.6, not version 2.7 but 2.5, because that is what works.
Thats the easiest way to capitalize on your software system, if you can't upgrade your base code, you shouldn't be using the latest and greatest software... That being said, I think versions need to be eliminated completely from software, it should just be python, and just be web2py, and just be windows, or ubuntu. Without versions, that requires programmers to not break backwards compatibility. -Thadeus On Thu, Oct 22, 2009 at 10:28 AM, mdipierro <mdipie...@cs.depaul.edu> wrote: > > I wish that statement were made before python 3.x was released. > Breaking everybody's code to change syntax without adding new real > features was not a good marketing move in my opinion. > > I would have preferred the statement were a commitment not to break > backward compatibility in the future rather than a moratorium on > changes.
