Yes, Mayberry Sheriff's Office has laptops in their squad car www.itronix.com (these are the ones they want in ours, at $6,000 a piece---and the repeater for them to hit, would be $60,000). Barney goes: "Now which code goes where." I don't think we're gonna do it.

I was at the sheriff's office 2 nites ago, we got called out for search and rescue and was in the dispatch center. There I see 5 computer screens. The one on the far left is basically a telephone where you can dial numbers from a mouse, the 2nd one has the dispatch logs, plus police reports, the 3rd one is the one that can run warrants, drivers license checks and license pate checks and the one on the right has capabilities of setting off fire alarm over town, open the sallyports, and firehouse doors etc. and the one on top has maps of the town and county that come up when a 911 call comes in. Now all this is worked by one wireless keyboard and one mouse. Plus the radio is there as well. so talk about technology I saw it the other nite.

BTW one of our police sergeants is a big TAGS fan and I told him about this list. Hopefully he'll be coming on. That's if he don't have to wrestle another guy who hit an officer in the face that night. I saw the 2nd assault happen in the elevator.

Pat tells me, "your a witness" I said, you bet, anything to help out.

Ever stop to think how some memorable moments in Mayberry might be
different, if The Show was set in the 21st century? Picture these scenes:

An inebriated Otis sends the following to Barney: Well, what are you so
sore about? I text-messaged you like I said I would, didn't I? I crawled
right over to the cell phone and text-messaged you.

Andy enters the courthouse to find Barney playing checkers against himself
on the computer. Andy says, "Why don't you launch Outlook Express? Maybe
you sent yourself an email."

As Barney is attempting to install a LAN in the courthouse, he says to
himself, "I wonder if it would be faster with bigger wires?"

Anybody want to add more?
