while this is certainly an interesting idea, it is unlikely in short term. Not only because there is some work left in Wave, but also that the whole ASF business runs on top of mailinglists. There is a phrase around which is like "if it didn't happen on list, it didn't happen". Mailing lists are archived and serve for documentation purposes. In addition it is a medium really everybody can use easily. I can hear a lot of people arguing against your idea - i have seen this a few times when somebody asked to allow HTML-emails. That said, if Wave could write back to mailinglists and read from them, it might serve as an additional client. Not sure if Wave would ever support things like that, i think it is out of scope for the project. But if it would, I can imagine that there might be a chance to discuss it. Infra would surely have a lot of requirements, but basically it could be discussed.
