While we all remain deeply concerned about the earthquake aftermath in Japan and pending nuclear fallout we hope and pray will be contained, it's important I mention the fact that more history is in the process of being created out in Madison, Wisconsin. I've just uploaded my latest raw footage of the demonstrations at the capital, Saturday March 12. The Wisconsin State Journal estimates 85,000 - 100,000 attended. I suspect more than that actually attended.
In regard to a small sampling of right wing rhetoric posts concerning the unleashing of "Union Thugs", such as the following gems. http://jammiewearingfool.blogspot.com/2011/03/wisconsin-unions-now-threateni ng.html http://tinyurl.com/4uag7lk http://sayanythingblog.com/entry/obama-talks-about-bullying-while-wisconsin- union-thugs-issue-death-threats/ http://tinyurl.com/49lpjl9 I have decided to place the following public announcement out at my You Tube OrionWorksVideo channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/OrionworksVideos?feature=mhum#p/u/0/D5GcsNviuaU http://tinyurl.com/4gg8vyw Excerpt: "The following brief message was brought to you by just one of the many Wisconsin Union members who demonstrated at the capital square in Madison Wisconsin on March 12, 2011. I'm one of those "union thugs", as implied be certain super conservative right wing organizations. Be afraid! We "thugs" have many clipboards and we know how to use them." * * * * * The following message is primarily for Wisconsin voters: Even though the "repair bill" was signed on Friday, March 11, this has not stopped the demonstrations. They have gotten bigger. For those who support the unions the next objective is to urge as many Wisconsin voters to get fired up enough to VOTE on April 5. VOTE YOUR CONSCIENCE! Either vote for Prosser or vote for Kloppenburg... BUT GET OUT AND VOTE! What needs to be determined is whether the incumbent David Prosser gets reelected or whether JoAnne Kloppenburg assumes the judicial seat. Most democrats and "liberals" tend to think of David Prosser as a rubber stamp for Walker's ideology. JoAnne Kooppenburg, on the other hand, is considered to be an independent thinker who is not likely to side with Walker's ideology. If Prosser is reelected it would not be good news for the labor movement. It would suggest another endorsement of Walker's political ideology. If Kloppenburg wins, on the other hand, it would strongly signal to everyone that the political mood of Wisconsin has changed dramatically and to such an extent that most feel galvanized enough to become more politically active. It is likely to result in efforts to reverse much of the current republican agenda, an agenda which seems to be relentlessly focused on the task of dismantling the strength of unions. A Kloppenberg win would strongly suggest to a republican "majority" which is currently held in both the Wisconsin house and assembly that, in truth, they are nothing more than an endangered species that may soon need to be protected from self-inflicted-extinction - as a result of devouring too many of own offspring out in wilds of Wisconsin. They will be in real danger of being voted out of office and/or recalled. If Kloppenburg wins it would suggest that the labor movement has been revitalized.
