If it is to give access to Window$ users, have a lok at
http://www.sourcecodecorner.com/articles/vnc/linux.asp .
Major advantage: no need to manually start the vncserver.
Major disadvantage: vnc session crashes with Window$.

For the real debugging, browse trough the vncserver script and see how Xvnc
is started. Try Xvnc --help to see it's options. THen figure out what your
prefereed options are. Start with all security and authentication off.
