Suddenly a working configuration stops working without anybody changing anything (as usual)....... :-)
We're running vnc on a RedHat 7.2 system so Windows users can connect. Now we are getting "Refused connections from client ...". This also comes if I try to run vncviewer locally on the RedHat machine and if I try using a webbrowser. Telnet to the vnc (590x) or http-port (580x) gives a "Connection closed by foreign host" message (telnet to 600x does not give this message!). What can cause this? Configuration change? Vnc hasn't been used for quite a while on this machine, and I'm quite shure that up2date has been run in the meantime (updating zlib, libc ++). How are things connected? Vncserver is not under tcpwrapper and I'm not aware of any other configuration that should prevent a connection. The password is set by vncpasswd and is correct. How do I go on debugging this problem? Here's the log, there are also a few other errormessages I would like comments on: 21/05/02 09:21:50 Xvnc version 3.3.3r2+tight1.1p9 21/05/02 09:21:50 Copyright (C) AT&T Laboratories Cambridge. 21/05/02 09:21:50 All Rights Reserved. 21/05/02 09:21:50 See http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc for information on VNC 21/05/02 09:21:50 Desktop name 'X' (tux:2) 21/05/02 09:21:50 Protocol version supported 3.3 21/05/02 09:21:50 Listening for VNC connections on TCP port 5902 21/05/02 09:21:50 Listening for HTTP connections on TCP port 5802 21/05/02 09:21:50 URL http://tux:5802 xrdb: No such file or directory xrdb: can't open file '/home/trane/.Xresources' SESSION_MANAGER=local/tux:/tmp/.ICE-unix/3865 Xlib: extension "XINERAMA" missing on display ":2.0". aumix: error opening mixer rm: cannot remove `/home/trane/.gnome//gmc-0WFz6X': No such file or directory subshell.c: couldn't get terminal settings: Inappropriate ioctl for device 21/05/02 09:22:00 Refused connection from client xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 21/05/02 10:23:59 Refused connection from client xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 21/05/02 10:23:59 Refused connection from client xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the line: 'unsubscribe vnc-list' in the message BODY See also: http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/intouch.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------
