Gateway Tech Support Schmuck: "Hey, hey, John. You ever heard of a program called V-ensee?" Gateway Supervisor: "What? No, what the hell is it?" Gateway Tech Support Schmuck: "I don't know, some lady on the phone is asking if it works with XP." Gateway Supervisor: "CYA, CYA. Cover your ass. Tell her no and be done with it." Gateway Tech Support Schmuck: "Shouldn't I try to find out?" Gateway Supervisor: "No, if it's not a Microsoft product we can't recommend it without their permission anyway." Gateway Tech Support Schmuck: "Oh, okay."
Gateway Tech Support Schmuck: "Ma'am? I just spoke to my supervisor. V-ensee is not compatible with XP and usage of it will void your warranty.." ---- My "co-leader" here in my IT department is a big fan of tech support, paying for it, etc. I've been the victim of too much of the above to even think tech support knows what they're doing. The only use they serve is for fun when I reload my prebuilt systems with Linux and call and ask them for support.. --Brian Schkerke -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of ShirleyC Sent: Tuesday, May 21, 2002 11:02 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: ShirleyC At 05/21/2002 05:52 PM +0200, you wrote: >yes that should work. My sister, several states away, to whom I'm connected via VNC has just purchased a Gateway WindowsXP and they have told her this program is not compatible. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the line: 'unsubscribe vnc-list' in the message BODY See also: http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/intouch.html --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the line: 'unsubscribe vnc-list' in the message BODY See also: http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/intouch.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------
