This may be entirely too simple of an explanation, but, be sure that: a)
your office PC is not in hibernation or screen saver mode, b) you selected
the option on the office PC to enable remote control from the viewer, not
just "listening" mode.
If the name of your computer is showing, you obviously have connection.

I am just trying WinVNC 3.3.3R9.    The program was loaded onto my office
computer (with Win98 and DSL internal modem) and onto my home computer (with
WinXP).  I tried to connect to the remote computer (office) from home
computer with VNCviewer.

I typed in "IP address:0" and then the session passoword.   Then, the
computer screen turned into black screen..  At the lefttop corner, I see the
name of my computer with a frozen arrow.    Could someone advise me how to
fix this problem?   James
