Yes, as both a VNC client and a VNC server. I'm not sure if you were saying you
have a problem connecting to or from an XP system, or both ways.

That error message shows up for an unresolvable name. If the same name forms
work on the other machines, try doing a ping from the command line. For
example, if the name you used was foo or foo.my.org try

ping foo

ping foo.my.org

You will probably find that either WINS or DNS data is not being updated;
possibly the XP and the other systems do not use the same DNS servers or the
NetBIOS name resolution over TCP/IP is not enabled.

Try connecting via IP address. If that works and you can't see what the problem
is yet, post a few more details:

+ What the problem connection is - viewer on XP to server on Win2K, viewer on
Win2K to server on XP, or both.

+ How is the name specified, a "bare" host name like foo or an FQDN like
foo.my.org

+ How are the 2000 and XP systems accessing DNS and local name resolution
services compared to each other.
