Your view explains the fontpath differences. SEe below for details. Update: pick the version with the proper setting and alter the other one. If vncserver should be altered, edit the vncserver script and exchange the fontpath in there with 'unix/:7100'.
For testimonials on a running system: in the vnc session, run `xset fp= 'unix/:7100'`. To switcb back to the origional: `xset fp default`.
