Assuming You are using WinNT or Win2k.

Step One.
        Check your service control manager to see if "VNC Server" is Installed.

        if it is, is it running?

Step Two
        If it isn't installed, use task manager to kill Winvnc.exe then use the
"-install" option to install.

Step Three
        Use the service helper <Start->Programs->VNC->administrative Tools>

    When I try to install the vnc service it says that another instances is
already running but the taskbar icon doesn't appear and i can't set the user
