Aha. It sounds like what's happening is that the system policy settings are over-riding VNC.
I am assuming that they must have set a control policy that disabled wallpaper modifications; and VNC may not be able to control that. But could you confirm this: You *did* also set under the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ORL\WinVNC3 a DWORD value named "RemoveWallpaper", which you set to "1". Since VNC runs as a local system account, I would think it can over-ride policies -as long as the system account ws not locked out from changing those also. ----- Original Message ----- From: "DELORME, BRUNO" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday/2002 February 04 18:37 Subject: Re: Remove Wallpaper : Hi, thank you for your answer. : : Sorry, but the workstation has previously been packaged by other people, : so I don't have this information. : : As I know the "Policy: DontDispBackground" (that has been set to 1) : has been restored to value 0 (before the test). : HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Sys tem\DontDispBackground : : Bruno : : Alex Angelopoulos wrote: : : > Bruno - could you post the registry key you changed, just as a : > double-check? : > : > Here's what I see checking the documentation - which I think you already : > did. : > : > RemoveWallpaper : > Indicates whether or not WinVNC should remove the user's background : > wallpaper when an incoming connection is made.
