I think the question is: Given you have the ability to manipulate the
registry, exactly what change(s) need to be made to make the VNCServer icon
disappear from the SysTray?

With TridiaVNC, they have an option
\HKLM\SOFTWARE\ORL\WinVNC3\Default\DisableTrayIcon which I set to 1 with no
success.

With NT you can use the NT Resource Kit to manipulate the
registry - that's if you've got admin permissions.

For 9x, I'm not sure, although I know you can install an option to
give some sort of remote access through Regedit. With 95/98,
access to the registry from the client end isn't really an issue, as
there is no security on the machine (unlike NT).
