Kurt:

SUCCESS! After endless screwing around and trying everything I could think
of, I got WinVNC to work!

On the SERVER: I had to enter a password in the server properties windows.
Otherwise, everything was set to the default. I used the WinVNC App Mode,
after running the Dialup Server.

On the VIEWER: In the DUN setup I finally figured out to use the Server's
network IP address (from TCP/IP setup). I used the Computer name (under
Identification of Network Properties), followed by :0 when the Viewer asked
for the VNC Server.

As is so often the case, it turned out to be very simple. It just seemed very
complicated at first.

I do have two questions:

1) On the PC that I will ultimately be connecting to (not used in my current
successful test) if it does not currently have an IP address specified, what
IP address should I enter? Do I need to be concerned with any of the other
settings, like DNS?

2) WinVNC seems to run slower than I remember pcAnywhere running. Naturally,
there a lots of things that effect speed, but I'm wondering if there are any
specific "tweaks" to help speed things up.

Thank you.

John
