James, I'm willing to buy your last conjecture. I know how to do port forwarding properly and my other gizmo works fine with port forwarding over wireless. I assume VNC has some other subtle requirement which the damn router does not implement. I didn't mean to complain about the VNC, I just meant to complain about the retail routers and maybe find out about at least one model that works.
