Evets, VNC Server uses the standard sockets mechanism to communicate via TCP. It has no dealings with the underlying network technology. If your router & wireless are correctly configured then it will work, just like any other application that uses sockets. If they are not correctly configured then it won't work, just like any other application.
To be totally clear on this: whether or not the computer is connected to a wireless network is irrelevant to VNC, provided that the network can support TCP/IP connections. If you can provide details on what actually goes wrong for you then we may be able to suggest what the cause of the problem is in your case.
