Hello Todd....

Guess I'll help you...

First TCP/IP (IP stands for Internet Protocol) is a very complex (from
your point of view) beast. So this ain't going to easy...

But we'll do it step by step.
We'll call the PC's: PC-S and PC-C. PC-S is the pc which you would like
to use remotely (on the screen of PC-C).

First we need some info, (since you already stated that you have no idea
what sub-nets, Nat-ing Routers, and firewalls are) we'll just start the
server component on each PC. When you do a small icon is placed on the
bottom RIGHT portion of your "Start-Bar". When you move the mouse over
the ICON, and leave it there (no clicking), it will show you the IP
address.

we are going to need the addresses of both machines. Although we
usually don't suggest that people give thier actuall ip addresses price
in a list, I'm going to have to so I can decide weither they are in the
same net, weither they are valid IP addresses or local addresses.

BTW (By The Way), you will have to enter a password. NEVER NEVER type a
passowrd into a message that goes into one of theese message lists. Did
I say NEVER NEVEER? make that NEVER NEVER NEVER!

Please post back to list, There are (or will be) other people who can
learn from this discusion, and I'd rather they read the list than each
one ask me.

Jerry
P.S. Tomororow, we discuss your ip addresses and what is required that
the 2 machines can talk directly to each other.
