I have used this hourly chime app for years. It's simple and basically announces the hour such as, "it's 9 pm." The voice may be selected. One can turn on or off the individual hours of the 24-hour day. For example, I have the last chime at 10 pm and first one at 7 am. I believe there is a free version and paid version. I bought the paid version just to support the developer; it might have been something like $0.99.
