When I back up, it says Audio Ducking hearind; when I go forward, it says When SpeakingIf I go past Always, it says The volume of media and calls will not change when voiceover is speaking.

OK, I was talking about on the Rotor. IN settings, Apps, VoiceOver, Audio, the first button is VoiceOver Sounds and Haptics. The next one is Audio Ducking, If you double tap that, you have three choices, Off, When Speaking, and Always. Please double tap on Off. Then it should say Selected, off. Then back up one level. The next item should be Auto Select Speaker in call. That should be on. That tells the iPhone to automatically switch to the speaker if you are not holding the phone against your ear, but has it about 12 to 18 inches at least away from your head and no fingers over the top portion of the screen. Make sure it is set like that and report back about the volume of phone calls. Oh, OK. I'll change that then. I never listen to music, so all I need is Voiceover and people on phone calls. Now is says Selected Off, and I can't get it on. Oh, now I see, there is no on. So When Speaking is selected, and I have it set at 50%. Thanks. If you have audio ducking on an set to 99% then it's no wonder you don't hear anything else because at 99% other audio is almost completely suppressed. You have to lower the amount other audio is ducked to maybe 75% or 80%. -----Original Message----- From: viphone@googlegroups.com <viphone@googlegroups.com> On Behalf Of Carolyn Arnold Sent: Friday, February 28, 2025 10:00 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: What's wrong with my iPhone 14 pro, can't hear people on phone calls? It now is at 99% and on, of course. Somehow, it was off. I am not sure if that is the problem. Also, my daughter-in-law, for one, at least, sometimes calls me, and nothing happens, goes to Voicemail. I can't figure out what all is going on, might have to trade in my phone. There seem to be no problems with Voiceover off, but my phone is no good to me without Voiceover. I turned it off and asked Siri to call Time and Temperature - my experimental contact. I could hear just fine. Of course, with Voiceover off, that moved Audio Ducking off the table. Now, I have it on though, so, at least as of now, it is working. Did you check the settings under Sound and Haptics? Make sure the Change with Buttons is off. As you flick up to increase the volume, you should hear your ringtone. If that isn't it, you may need to contact Apple.
