Try some the soundcore headsets from anker. They do work pretty well. I agree with Rchard , there is no need to purchase a new headset. Just be patient. They are my Perytong headphones that are sold on Amazon as a sleep band, but that I wear as much or more when I am up and about, being that I easily can hear outside noise and can talk to people while wearing them.
