You have currently the debian package 'virtualbox-2.1' installed. The
package virtualbox-3.0_3.0.8-53138_Ubuntu_jaunty_i386.deb is a debian
package 'virtualbox-3.0'. Note that 'virtualbox-2.1' and 'virtualbox-3.0'
are two different conflicting packages. To be able to install the 3.0.8
package you have to remove the 'virtualbox-2.1' package.

This naming was chosen to allow the user to stay with a stable branch of
VirtualBox. If you are using a package manager and select virtualbox-3.0,
the other package would be automatically unselected.

So again, just remove the old virtualbox-2.1.4 package (your VMs wouldn't
be harmed) and install VirtualBox 3.0.8.

Kind regards,

Frank
