Thanks Marcus, I’ve been scouring the Rubiks cube that is the knowledge base
for about a week now. I’ve also watched the Dan Baker GRCON2019 talk and
followed the references there as well.
The reference you linked is very helpful in a lot of cases, but in this one it
doesnt address (anywhere I’ve seen) that in order to have the device operate
with local oscillator sharing between RF 0 and RF 1, physically connecting the
radio back to itself needs to be done. I’ve seen plenty of things about
“external LO” but to me that term is a little confusing because it sounds like
it’s external LO to the device.
I guess I was just thinking it might be a good idea to let N321 users know that
in order to achieve phase coherence between INTERNAL channels, it’s going to be
more work than a B210.
Just my 2 cents.
You should be able to get adequate phase-coherence in a single N321
without using LO-sharing at all--I THINK that the synthesizers support
phase-resynch on tuning, so if the tune commands are wrapped up in
timed commands, you should get internal phase coherence without
resorting to LO sharing.
But I don't have one of these in my collection, so I can't test that
hypothesis...
