Hi all, Marcus,

Finally, I've fed one USRP with the clock that I generated. But I would like to check if it is working properly, besides, I explicitly enabled the external clock using set_clock_source("external").

To do this, I've checked the REF LED in the front panel.

--> Without adding the external clock, the LED is on, therefore it is good because the external clock is blocked. --> Adding the external clock, the LED flicks and I do not If the LED should do this. It is a normal behavior?

Thank in advance. Best!
Alejandro
The LED should be on solidly.

    Hi all, Marcus,

I continue trying to generate the square signal as a clock but
now by means of a FPGA.

The square signal, that I generated, has *a period of 100 ns and
a Vpp of 0.65 V (in attached). *These values are correct in order
    to feed a USRP?

    Thanks in advance. Best regards,
    Alejandro
That signal looks good to me.

        Hi Marcus,

Thanks a lot! What GPSDO do you recommend? We need to buy one.

        Best regards,

Most Ettus customers with more than a single USRP tend to use
        the Octoclock-G:

            Hi all, Marcus,

Thanks for the answer, it was really useful. Now, I am
trying to generate the 10Mhz signal using a vector
signal generator, but the signal is nor really pure
because the signal generator bandwidth is only 60MHz.
Also, the Vpp of the signal is 1.4 V, is it correct?

If someone can see the signal (in attached) and tell me
if I can use it as an external clock, it will be really
            helpful.

            Best regards,
            Alejandro
What is the stability of your vector signal generator? I suspect that it's much worse than the on-board clocks.

You'd do better to use an external GPSDO to feed to your
            two X310.

                    Dear community,

I would like to add an external clock to two
USRP in order to have the same clock discarding
                    possible synchronization issues. The desirable
frequency of the clock would be 184 MHz
                    (compatible with LTE).

And I was wondering about what will be the
                    possible solutions:

--> It is possible to use a sine signal with a
desirable frequency as an external clock? In
this case what will the amplitude of the signal
be? Unfortunately, I do not have a PWM
generator in order to use it as a clock.

--> It is possible to use another USRP as an
external clock using a transmit basic
                    daughterboard ?

Thanks you so much in advance.

                    Best regards,
                    Alejandro

X310 supports an external clock already, via the
10MHz front-panel input. The master clock (which
can be 184.32Mhz, to support LTE) is then derived
from that. Just feed a 10Mhz clock to all your
                X310s.
