I find it very tiresome reading your responses Reindl, you are

posts a question.

I quite agree.

I'm sure Reindl/Harald is a very nice person in real life, but his
constant rudeness in the emails he writes paints a picture of someone
who is quite unpleasant and unhelpful. I don't know if that is his
intention.

no it's not

i just love a direct speech in both directions instead pointsless small
talk since i have only 24 hours each day and answer most questions on
lists "by the way" (but most times quickly) while doing a ton of other
stuff

so it's just disturbing when someone steps in with an attitude "i did
not do any of my homework, not read any documentations, have no plan how
email works and so i start to ask question long enough to make a working
config from the pieces in the answers"

Why not ignore these messages if they are too time consuming?

that's not the point - i expect from someone who asking a question that he comes with at least enough basic knowledge how things are supposed to work by reading manuals and first google so that we can talk to each other on a accetable level where not every technical term is a foreign language

when i have something learned then if you give always nice answers instead to be honest and say "why do i need to enter the question in google for you" people wil never start to read and think on their own while some do start look at manuals and try to understand things when someone explains them that nobody is their questions-monkey

but what is in any case *just unacceptable* are people proving over years on several mail related lists that they have no clue and are also not capable to ever change that trolling around and giving most times answers which only match on their 2-inbox-raspberry but never for anybody *responsible* for his configuration and what it does to other peoples mail

I am a
member of many mailing lists and your actions would have caused you to
be removed on all of the others by now.

compared with some other *really* personal attacks i got on this list harmless

Do your employers know that this is how you are communicating on a
public mailing list while on their time?

since i am not a 9-to-5 monkey and dedicate 95% of my lifetime over the last 15 years for software and infrastrcuture running here you better mind your own dirt

I'm not going to continue this

better is
