Have I missed the point? I don't think so, and I appreciate this is off topic(ish), but ... The point is, a great deal of the stuff we have to deal with comes from commercial organisations that spam for a living. These guys can't operate without access to a ready source of domains. If Nominet wanted to stop a huge lump of spam originating from .UK , they could. All they need to do is link every commercial registration to a UK company number or similar for of ID, then react when someone complains. After that, three strikes (pick a number) and you're out of business. It won't stop it all, sure, but it will stop some, and not just 'after the fact', ... Right ... off to take a chill pill :) J.
