There are list managers which allow you to indefinitely suspend your subscription without unsubscribing, f.i. Mailman. I don't know if ezmlm (I think that's what ASF uses deducing from qmail as their mailer) supports it, but it doesn't look like it's offered, whether supported by the software or not. I would think that this would be a valuable addition. On the other hand, I doubt that many people will be aware of this option if it was offered.
